        <p>In the article are examined the basic principles of the design of cathode protection by the superimposed current of underground metallic construction with the use of a number of the practical formulas, obtained in the process of the development of the methods of electrochemical protection. The increased attention is given to the estimation of the technical and economic effectiveness of cathodic protection.</p>
