        <p>The classification of welding equipment for arc welding in shipbuilding from 6 groups has been developed in this article. Future directions of production development of shipbuilding welding equipment are determined on the base of this classification. The article can be interested for the technologists of shipyards for proper choosing of welding equipment for MIG/MAG welding.</p>
