Production and structure of copper powder, dispersion-strengthened nanodiamonds detonation

In this paper presents a method for preparation of nanostructured composite material Cu / detonation nanodiamonds (DND). Contents of DND in copper powder were changed from 0.5 to 5.0 wt. %. The average size of DND in suspension is 4-6 nm. The process includes spray-drying the mixture of the aqueous solution of copper salt and nanodiamonds suspension with further subsequent reduction heat treatment of product. The average size of obtained nanocomposite powders is 20-30 micrometers, with a nearly spherical shape. The composition and structure of prpoduced material, potential applications and possibilities of this method were studied.
