Abstract:

The paper presents the results of shaping the geometry of the inlet channels of the internal- combustion engine head based on a CHN 15/17,5 turbo diesel. The shaping was performed using a numerical experiment. Various versions of the inlet channel geometry were designed based on the original one. Turbulent flow was then modelled for these versions by the Ansys Fluent software. A k-ω SST turbulent model was used. Aerodynamic resistance was subsequently calculated using the obtained numerical solution. The paper presents information on the configuration and aerodynamic resistance of the designed inlet channels. An inlet channel with much less aerodynamic resistance than the original one was obtained as a result of the research.
