        <p>It is proposed to assess the landfill's condition and the choice of a recultivation technology perform based on the area-based determination of biogas emission from MSW landfill. The case of a big landfill of St. Petersburg, a calculation of biogas emissions from various waste disposal areas has been made. The substantiation for the area-based management of waste decomposition has been made. The area-based management of waste decomposition allows fuller use of potential energy from MSW landfill and accelerates the mineralization of the waste.</p>
