He graduated from the Engineering and Physical (physical and mechanical) of the industrial department of the Leningrad (Polytechnic) in 1938. He worked at the Physical-technical Institute in 1938–1941 years in Leningrad and in 1942–1943 years in Kazan, from 1943 to 1957 in the Laboratory № 2 (1949 Laboratory instrumentation — LIAS, and since 1956 the Institute of Atomic Energy), USSR and from 1957 to 1990 at the Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions, Joint Institute for nuclear Research in Dubna.
