In the article is produced the analysis and the systematization of the basic factors, which have an effect on current drain by the system for the cathode protection of underground metallic communications from corrosion. The basic reasons, which have an effect on the current drain and power loss in the direct-current circuit of electrochemical corrosion protection, are in detail examined and systematized, and practical recommendations regarding their decrease are given.
