      <abstract xml:lang="en">
        <p>Compounds with interference are used for transmitting torque and axial loads due to friction forces arising on their surfaces through elastic deformation during assembly. During operation, the connections made of steel parts are destroyed as a result of fretting-corrosion due to the action of variable loads, typical for many types of equipment. One way to combat this phenomenon may be the use of thin-layer polymer coatings. The present work discusses the results of studying the adhesion strength and coefficient of friction of polyamide thin-layer coatings and composites based on polyamides on steel. We found that a composite containing from 20 to 40% mass fraction of iron oxide has the best friction and adhesive properties. Its coefficient of static friction on steel is comparable with the coefficient of static friction steel on steel, and adhesion to steel surface is more 40% higher than coatings of pure polyamide.</p>
